Christa Malay has been a full time artist since 1986. Her artistic achievements include mastering the medium of watercolors, pastels, oils, etching and screen printing (serigraphy).

She has exhibited her original paintings in at least one hundred solo and group shows in over thirtyfive galleries over the years. Her prints and paintings are held in numerous private and corporate collections. Her etchings and limited edition Giclee prints are available in many frame shops throughout the United States. Her pastel paintings have been featured in several art magazines and art publications. To date Christa has painted over 1,700 original images in addition to 83 etchings and 160 serigraph editions. More than 15,000 people own one of her original paintings, etchings or serigraphs. Governor Christine Gregoire, First Gentleman Mike Gregoire and the Governor's Mansion Foundation Art Curators presented a solo exhibition by Christa Malay. The exhibition showcased a selection of her recent paintings at the Executive Mansion in Olympia Washington. The exhibition opened in May 2010 with a private reception and lecture by the artist and was available to the public for viewing at the mansion through May 2011. Northwest newspapers have written articles about her art and her uniquely 'green' living and working space on Lopez Island. She participated in several art invitationals at the Tacoma Art Museum, The Bellingham Art Museum and the San Juan Island Art Museum.
